McElwain expected Bibbs historic day, ‘he should’ve had 420 yards’

It was a record breaking day for Kapri Bibbs, or, as Rams head coach Jim McElwain sees it, just another workday.

“That’s what he is supposed to do. He did his job,” McElwain said.

Bibbs rushed for a Colorado State record 312 yards against Nevada on Saturday. The redshirt sophomore broke the mark set by Tony Alford – 310 yards – in 1989.

“He should’ve had 420 yards. Let’s see how he learns and steps through this. I love his attitude. I love the way he competes and how much he cares,” he continued.
