Buffs must overcome adversity, even if they have yet to lose

Colorado knows the feeling of loss but they have yet to be defeated.

That certainly stands for the community as a whole that was ravaged by prophetic floods as well as the football team which forced the Buffs last game – scheduled against Fresno State two weeks ago – to be postponed.

It was a setback, one that cannot be measured on a scoreboard.

“After that happened I went back in the locker room and said ‘God, I feel like we’ve kind of just lost a football game’,” head coach Mike MacIntyre said. “That emotional rollercoaster was tough but not near as tough as everything that was going on with everyone else.”

Several of the Buffs players were displaced due to the flooding and have had to go through the process of getting some of their stuff replaced.

“It made them re-focus and realize how precious different things are in life,” MacIntyre continued. “I sure hope that has brought them closer together and keeps them stronger.”
