When he realized he had finally made it, in that moment in Candlestick Park, it hit Sylvester Williams.
The Broncos rookie had gone through so much, from getting kicked out of high school and working at a radiator factory before reinvesting himself in his goals, graduating, going on to college and all the way to being selected by Denver in the first round.
Williams was finally playing in a game in the National Football League. In fact, it hit him twice.
“It was the first play of the game when I got double teamed,” No. 92 said. “And that’s when I realized it was real, but it was fun.”
The two San Francisco offensive linemen were waiting for Williams to get in the game so they could do just that, welcome him to the league properly.
